The Best Month-to-Month Hosting Providers

Tired of web hosting providers that push you into committing for several years to set up a simple website? Luckily, there are plenty of hosts with affordable monthly prices, no strings attached. We reviewed the leading month to month web hosting offers to help you find the best one.

In our search, we found the top picks for:

  • Short-term hosting
  • WordPress sites
  • Ecommerce
  • Most affordable deals

… and more.

If that sounds like it would interest you, just scroll down to our monthly web hosting reviews. You’ll be able to take advantage of great deals while making manageable monthly payments.

How We Picked the Best Month to Month Hosting Providers

Most hosting reviews out there focus on annual deals. But monthly plans deserve just as much attention. While we’ve evaluated the best web hosting companies before, here we’ve rated them based on their monthly plans. Here’s how we did that:

  • We started by seeing what’s on the market and eliminating unsuitable providers. Many leading hosts don’t even allow monthly payments. Even worse, some either raise monthly costs way out of proportion or charge you huge setup fees. We made sure the top picks we reviewed offer fair monthly website hosting deals.
  • Next, we took each provider’s reputation into account to shorten our list. If a hosting company has a shoddy service, customers will warn you about it online. Plus, real clients know if a provider tends to nickel-and-dime users after signup.
  • Then, it was time for our data-based evaluation. We signed up for each hosting service and tested the features to see if they work correctly. Also, we took note of any performance issues or unsavory business practices.
  • The support got its fair share of our attention too. We contacted each support team and checked how quickly and effectively they respond to issues. That way, we ensured you’ll get the assistance you need before there’s serious trouble.
  • Lastly, we checked the price of the monthly hosting plans. The whole point of going for monthly hosting is getting a fair price without the commitment of a long-term contract. We evaluated the pricing of each host and put the best-value deals in the reviews below.

Month to Month Hosting - Detailed Reviews

DreamHost
DreamHost

BEST FOR WORDPRESS HOSTING

Starting at
$ 4.95 /mo
  • Uptime 99.99%
  • Speed 8/10
  • Support 9/10
  • Ease of Use 9/10
  • Fixed prices
  • Great reputation
  • Awesome support
  • Extensive knowledge base
  • Quickstart wizard
  • Excellent for WordPress
  • Page builder included
  • No free migrations

What Is DreamHost?

DreamHost is one of the recommended WordPress providers and a huge influence in the open-source community. It’s also one of the most affordable long-term hosting choices.

But is its monthly web hosting price any good? Let’s see:

DreamHost Features

Unlike most providers, DreamHost runs a custom control panel. It makes both website and subscription management much smoother than cPanel. It does lack some typical 1-click installers, but it has the big ones like WordPress.

You get all the standard useful features, like:

  • SSD storage
  • Daily backups
  • SSL installation
  • SSH access

… and more.

The only thing lacking from DreamHost’s month to month web hosting is a free migration service. To transfer a WordPress site, you have to use a proprietary migration plugin.

DreamHost is a real treat for WordPress users. There is a quick start wizard for a faster setup. And the core updates and security patches can free up time for more important tasks.

Page Building Solutions

You also get to use BoldGrid for free, which is one of the best WordPress page builders. Aside from helping design custom layouts through drag-and-drop, it can handle backups more efficiently, help with caching, and give SEO tips in real-time. It’s an excellent help in making your website unique and more efficient.

And if you’re not a fan of WordPress, the cheap monthly hosting comes with a proprietary website builder. It’s not the shiniest solution, but it will let you deploy a website quickly.

All in all, it’s an impressive offer, especially for fans of WordPress. DreamHost is a strong contender for the best monthly host. For an overview of other plans and features, check out our DreamHost review.

DreamHost Support

We’ve been running tests on DreamHost for over two years now, and we’re yet to find a flaw in the support team.

It is available 24/7 and it provides near-instant responses. We prodded the agents with various questions and we always got the assistance we need.

Not to mention that DreamHost has vetted WordPress experts among its staff and no challenge with the CMS is too big for them. The qualified staff makes it one of the best monthly web hosting providers for WP users.

The knowledge base is expertly maintained and frequently updated. You’ll find a bunch of tutorials on a variety of topics. All are well-written and packed with images showing how to handle important tasks.

All in all, DreamHost support is no slouch.

DreamHost User Reviews

Unsurprisingly, the great majority of users praise DreamHost left and right. The provider scores 4.7/5 on Trustpilot and 8.7/10 on HostAdvice, which are all remarkable results. Users mostly praise the hosting setup and the support team.

There are some negative comments here and there, but most are one-off issues with individual servers. In other words, nothing to be concerned about.

DreamHost’s reputation is solid.

DreamHost Pricing

You can buy shared hosting in two tiers, both with the same features.

  • Shared Starter—1 website, 50GB storage, $4.95/month
  • Shared Unlimited—Unlimited websites, unlimited storage, $8.95/month

The rates are fixed, so you’ll be paying the starting price for as long as you are with DreamHost. No nasty surprises or hidden fees.

The pricing is fantastic for the features and resources the plan includes. DreamHost is easily the most affordable provider with a generous starting plan and superb unlimited package.

Verdict

DreamHost did it again. With excellent features at affordable month-to-month rates, it has the most lucrative offer on the market. It definitely deserves a spot on our best month to month web hosting list.

BEST SECURITY & SPEEDS

Starting at
$ 5 /mo
  • Uptime 99.95%
  • Speed 9/10
  • Support 9/10
  • Ease of Use 8/10
  • Robust server stack
  • Great security
  • Thorough speed optimization
  • Flexible hosting
  • Hack fix guarantee
  • Price-lock guarantee
  • Fantastic support
  • Affordable for multiple websites
  • Not the cheapest for single-site hosting

What Is InterServer?

InterServer is a smaller privately-owned company based in the US. It primarily focuses on the American market with an inclination towards technical features.

It has a one-size-fits-all plan and promotes month to month deals—just what we are looking for. Let’s see if the service works out.

InterServer Features

InterServer monthly web hosting plans run on CloudLinux, which is slowly becoming the industry standard for shared hosting. The OS gets you more resource integrity (meaning fewer performance troubles) and higher levels of security.

InterServer combines it with a LiteSpeed web server to bring you a massive speed boost. This optimization works best if you run a PHP-based system like WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop, or Magento.

The control panel is cPanel. You also get the benefits of RAID-10 redundant SSD storage, SSL installation, weekly backups, an emailing system, etc.

WordPress users can use an easy installer for a quick website setup and enable auto-updates to save time. Not too shabby for cheap monthly web hosting packages.

Robust Security

If you’re a security buff, you’ll enjoy InterShield—a proprietary security system. It combines a malware scanner with an IP blacklist checker and a host of other technologies. The provider maintains a massive in-house malware database to protect you from all known attacks. As for the unknown ones, the firewall uses machine learning algorithms to identify suspicious traffic and lock out attackers.

InterServer guarantees website files will remain clean. It even promises to resolve any security issues when migrating a website to its servers. And did we mention the migrations are free? Talk about a reliable month to month web hosting service.

Fast Speeds

But wait, there’s more. InterServer is big on speed, so just running LiteSpeed isn’t enough. It has a proprietary system that caches content at four different levels—RAID, hardware, software, and packet level. This is combined with Cloudflare CDN for blazing-fast delivery all around the globe.

InterServer exceeds all expectations! And it’s fantastic if you need extra tight server security and speeds. But that’s not all! For a full overview of the provider’s capabilities, you can read our InterServer review.

InterServer Support

Want expert support that won’t leave you hanging when you need it the most? Then InterServer’s month to month web hosting deals might be right for you.

I contacted the provider’s support team on numerous occasions and we can happily report it’s one of the best we’ve ever seen. The agents answer almost instantly, are great communicators, and know their way around the platform. And don’t be surprised if one of the founders replies to your emails—John Quagliery runs the support team personally and with great panache.

Admittedly, InterServer’s knowledge base could do with a freshening up. With the expert support team, though, this is a minor detail.

InterServer User Reviews

InterServer’s user reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Clients on review sites and Reddit love the robust infrastructure and feature offering. What’s more, technical users enjoy the flexibility and the low web hosting fee.

InterServer has an excellent reputation, all in all, and deservedly so.

InterServer Pricing

InterServer sells a one-size-fits-all hosting plan. The price is $5 for the first month and $7/month afterward. This gets you all the advantages with unlimited hosting storage and no limit on domains.

The hosting costs per month are affordable for hosting multiple sites. It’s not the cheapest option if you want to start a smaller blog from the ground up, but it can work wonders for more advanced sites.

One massive advantage is that InterServer locks in the price when you sign up for hosting. That means no price hikes for as long as you stay on the same plan. You can avoid nasty surprises down the road, which few providers can guarantee you.

Verdict

If you need a solution that packs a bit more punch, InterServer sells excellent monthly web hosting packages. Its lightning-fast servers locked behind near-impenetrable security systems are a dream for any modern website owner or merchant.

NameCheap
NameCheap

MOST AFFORDABLE WORDPRESS DEALS

Starting at
$ 2.88 /mo
  • Uptime 99.9%
  • Speed 7/10
  • Support 6/10
  • Ease of Use 9/10
  • Incredibly affordable
  • Dev-friendly
  • Site builder included
  • Custom dashboard
  • Free premium SSL
  • WordPress-ready
  • Mediocre support

What Is NameCheap?

NameCheap was founded back in 2000 and it quickly grew to be one of the biggest domain registrars. A lesser-known fact is that it has a broad web hosting offer as well.

Here’s what its cheap domain and hosting package offerings include:

NameCheap Features

NameCheap gets you features like:

  • cPanel with Softaculous
  • SSD storage
  • Free SSL
  • Automated bi-weekly backups (not on the smallest plan)
  • Webmail

The largest plan upgrades the single-server infrastructure to a cloud setup. Instead of being stored on one physical machine, data is distributed between multiple devices. Your website is safe even in case of a server failure.

The month by month web hosting plans are also dev-friendly. They support Ruby, Perl, Python, CGI, SSI, and more. NameCheap even made it to our top Node.js hosting providers.

Bespoke Site Builder

You can use NameCheap’s website builder if you want to deploy sites quickly. It provides a lot of freedom, useful features, and it is PCI-compliant and ecommerce-friendly. The interface is kind of clunky compared to the best site builders. Still, if you can live with it, you can easily set up and manage a website.

WordPress Options

The shared plans aren’t WordPress-optimized. However, you can get single-site managed WordPress hosting starting from $3.88/month ($0.01 for the first month). The more advanced plans have somewhat different features, but they are all well-optimized for the CMS. That’s as cheap month-to-month web hosting service as it gets for a single WordPress site.

The basic plan can support up to 50k monthly visitors and includes a custom dashboard for easy management. The higher tiers add a CDN and get you a free Positive SSL by Sectigo—one of the leading SSL providers.

It’s excellent value for WordPress users!

All in all, NameCheap offers a few nice features for every kind of website owner. Check out our NameCheap review for a more detailed account of offerings.

NameCheap Support

NameCheap support is not bad, but it isn’t the greatest either.

It has plenty of staff, so the queries get answered fast enough. That said, some agents seem to have little to no training, and they struggle with complicated queries.

The best you can hope for is being passed around from agent to agent until you run into someone who can help you. The other month to month website hosting providers we reviewed simply have better-performing teams.

The knowledge base is decent. There is a comprehensive set of 2,000-3,000 articles you can use to learn the ropes. It’s great, but it can’t entirely replace the lacking customer support.

NameCheap User Reviews

NameCheap gets somewhat mixed reviews. Users like the features and affordable pricing.

However, many clients had problems to which the support didn’t respond adequately. Understandably, this created quite a bit of friction on common review sites.

The comments mostly confirm our findings.

NameCheap Pricing

NameCheap sells three monthly payment web hosting plans.

  • Stellar—3 websites, 20GB SSD storage, $2.88/month
  • Stellar Plus—Unlimited websites, unlimited SSD storage, $4.88/month
  • Stellar Business—Unlimited websites, 50GB cloud SSD storage, $8.88/month

The smallest plan doesn’t include automatic backups, which is a significant disadvantage.

Still, Stellar Plus is extremely affordable. It is a great starting point and you can back up your site manually every now and again.

Other than that detail, the plans have solid value and are some of the more affordable ones out there.

Verdict

NameCheap has some of the cheapest monthly hosting plans for both standard users and WordPress website owners. The support is a bit hit-and-miss, which you should keep in mind. However, if you want the best price, it doesn’t get much better than Namecheap.

Brixly
Brixly

BEST UK HOST

Starting at
£ 3.95 /mo
  • Uptime 99.97%
  • Speed 8/10
  • Support 8.5/10
  • Ease of Use 8/10
  • Fast web server setup
  • Migration tools
  • Solid WordPress features
  • Well-trained agents
  • Flexible deals
  • Only good for the UK
  • Sluggish support

What Is Brixly?

Brixly might be only three years old, but it is already one of the UK’s strongest hosts. It’s also among the few independent companies in a niche monopolized by EIG and GoDaddy.

It has quite affordable pay by the month web hosting, so let’s check if it can work for you.

Brixly Features

Brixly hosting runs a powerful combo of Apache with Nginx as a reverse-proxy. This is combined with mod_lsapi and a custom caching solution.

Sounds advanced? That’s because the system is meant to outperform LiteSpeed without requiring you to pay for a licensed web server and it certainly records impressive results.

Brixly runs a standard cPanel setup on top of the server stack. You get common advantages like SSD storage, 1-click installers, WildCard SSL installation, and daily backups.

Highly Secure

The provider puts a strong emphasis on security. Its pay per month web hosting runs on CloudLinux, which is more secure and reliable than alternative distributions. To top it off, the plans include a web application firewall, DDoS protection, and an anti-malware system. The security is airtight.

Instead of a migration service, Brixly has a proprietary system called “Migration Center.” It attempts to move websites (or full accounts) from other cPanel/WHM providers to Brixly. If the system fails, the tech team will assist you with the troubleshooting.

WordPress-ready

The shared plans are okay if you need monthly WordPress hosting. You get features for an easy management with site cloning and staging tools.

Once you get to higher-end managed WordPress plans, you get auto-updates, all sorts of reliability features and security fixes, and easy WP-Rocket integration. The managed WP plans aren’t really for beginners, but they are a fantastic upgrade once your website grows in popularity.

All things considered, Brixly is a fantastic monthly web hosting provider. For the full list of features, you can read our detailed Brixly review.

Brixly Support

The Brixly live chat is kind of slow. You can expect to wait about 10 minutes for a representative to get back to you.

That said, once you reach an agent, your worries are over. The agents are awesomely well-trained and knowledgeable about supported technologies. They can help you handle all sorts of configuration changes and problems.

The knowledge base is well-maintained too. You can find all sorts of tutorials for handling the most common tasks. A tip—opt to view articles by popularity to find the relevant guides more easily.

All in all, the support performs well, though you might need to be patient with the live chat.

Brixly User Reviews

Go on, find a negative Brixly review; we dare you!

Joking aside, Brixly has a sound reputation. Many even claim it has the best web hosting with monthly payment—at least in the UK.

It scores 4.9/5 on Trustpilot and 9.9/10 on HostAdvice, and those are the averages of 500 reviews. It’ll be hard to find a provider that scores higher.

Both website owners and hosting resellers praise Brixly for its speeds, features, and helpful support. There are virtually no negative comments and the CEO thoroughly addresses anything that comes close to a complaint.

The reactions show just how promising Brixly really is.

Brixly Pricing

Brixly has three shared hosting plans. Naturally, their costs come in pounds, not dollars.

  • Infinity—10GB storage, 1 CPU core, 1GB RAM, £3.95/month (which amounts to around $5.50)
  • Infinity+—Unlimited storage, 2 CPU cores, 2GB RAM, £8.95/month (or around $12.50)

You can make a £1 monthly web hosting payment and try either plan for the first month.

The plans are very affordable for the UK standards. The Infinity plan gets you a low-end start for your website, and the Infinity+ is great when your audience starts growing.

All in all, Brixly is one of the more affordable options if you want to target the UK or Western Europe.

Verdict

Brixly has powerful features, fast and reliable server infrastructure, and excellent support. The stellar reputation naturally follows. It completely knocks it out of the park with some of the best monthly web hosting plans you’ll find.

MochaHost
MochaHost

MOST FLEXIBLE PRICING

Starting at
$ 2.48 /mo
  • Uptime 99.99%
  • Speed 6/10
  • Support 5/10
  • Ease of Use 8/10
  • Reliable infrastructure
  • Decent security
  • Free migrations
  • WordPress-ready plans
  • No downtime when updating server technologies
  • Setup fee on some plans

What Is MochaHost?

MochaHost is a relatively large independent provider with robust features and powerful infrastructure. It also extends all sorts of guarantees you don’t see with most web hosts.

It does promote long-term discounts, but its hosting costs per month aren’t too bad either.

Here’s an overview of its most prominent features (for the complete list, see our MochaHost review🙂

MochaHost Features

MochaHost runs a very reliable setup on servers with Intel Xeon CPUs at 2.40GHz, 256GB DDR4 RAM, and RAID-10 SAN SSD storage. It deploys cloud virtualization, which makes the system extra reliable.

One outstanding feature is Mocha’s proprietary Never Reboot protection. It lets the provider patch the server stack without rebooting the system, minimizing scheduled downtime.

MochaHost has a standard cPanel-based month to month web hosting, equipped with:

  • SSL security
  • Solid-state drives
  • Webmail

There are other excellent features, but they are reserved for the two larger plans.

They include SEO tools, Cloudflare CDN, weekly backups, various content caching mechanisms, and PCI scanning. These tools are excellent for making your site fast and more reliable. It would be nice to see them on the smallest plan as well, though.

Security And Dev Tools

Speaking of reliability, Mocha adds decent security tools. There is an automatic health monitoring system and you will be also protected by advanced malware and spam monitoring.

If you need a website migration, MochaHost can handle it for you. Excellent if you already have a website and lack experience with site transfers.

There are WordPress-optimized plans with the same web hosting fee as standard shared hosting. They come with automatic core updates, the BoldGrid website builder, WP-CLI, and a staging/cloning tool. All are excellent features.

Overall, it’s a great offer. Just keep in mind some features are exclusive to the higher-tier plans.

MochaHost Support

MochaHost support is inconsistent. Some agents do a solid job troubleshooting and providing technical info. Others, however, tend to just beat around the bush and spam knowledge base links.

The agents also seem to be instructed to avoid any touchy subjects (like misleading guarantees,) which is less than ideal if you’re about to buy shared hosting.

The knowledge base has similar flaws. Some articles are helpful, but a lot lead to broken links or just contain promos for MochaHost services.

The support could be better, all in all.

MochaHost User Reviews

MochaHost user reviews are favorable for the most part. Users like the features and many have been with the provider for a long time without issue.

That said, there are some legitimate complaints. Most have to do with the lacking support, which is unsurprising.

MochaHost Pricing

MochaHost has three ASP.NET monthly web hosting plans:

  • Soho—one website, starting from $2.48/month
  • Business—starting from$3.98/month first month
  • Mocha—starting from $6.21/month first month

Keep in mind the monthly deals add a $5 setup fee to the first month. This isn’t too bad, but you should be aware your first month will be slightly more expensive.

Other than that, the prices are standard. Most users start on the Business plan to take advantage of multisite options, automated backups, and SEO tools. The Mocha plan is more suitable for business websites that need to optimize conversions.

Verdict

MochaHost has a decent offer for most website owners, especially for WordPress and WooCommerce setups. It extends a quite reasonable web hosting costs per month, though the smallest plan is a bit limited. All in all, it’s a worthwhile host for getting short-term hosting packages.

FastComet Features

What Is Hostwinds?

Founded in 2010, Hostwinds quickly gained a reputation for having a vast range of hosting services and quality customer support. One of the major selling points is its transparent pricing and attractive month to month deals.

Let’s see if it has the best website hosting plans.

Hostwinds Features

Hostwinds runs its shared plans on top of high-end hardware, including Xeon E3 and E5 CPUs, DDR4 RAM, and RAID-10 SSD drives. You can expect top-notch performance provided by state-of-the-art hardware.

The provider runs a standard cPanel setup with SSL installation, webmail, and all that good stuff.

You can’t get month to month web hosting with a free domain, but Hostwinds throws in another freebie. It gives you a free dedicated IP address with all shared hosting plans. With this, you can set up a custom SSL certificate or avoid getting flagged for spam—both essential for business websites.

Owners of existing websites can take advantage of free migration services.

Nightly backups are there to ensure you can always roll back your website in case of a problem. And for extra reliability, the Hostwinds team monitors websites 24/7 for any issues. If there’s a problem, the team will fix it faster than you can say “web hosting.”

Scalability

If you need a speed boost or want to send more emails, you can upgrade to Hostwinds Business Hosting. It’s still shared web hosting with monthly billing, but it runs the LiteSpeed web server, which is much faster than Apache. It also gets you more server resources to handle popular websites. Best of all, it’s only $4-$5 more expensive than standard shared hosting, so you won’t overpay.

The plans have a few good advantages and you have room to scale affordably. If you want to learn more about the service’s pros and cons, you can read our full Hostwinds review.

Hostwinds Support

There’s a lot to love about Hostwinds’ support. It’s easy to contact the team whenever you need assistance—you can reach it from the website navigation bar.

We at HostingTribunal decided to try the support ourselves. A few clicks later, an agent got back to us.

Customer support reps provide excellent assistance. They can answer most hosting-related questions or resolve more complicated issues for you. The team compares favorably to other month to month website hosting companies.

The knowledge base has useful guides, but the maintenance could be handled better. There are many broken links on the navigation page, so you usually need to play around with the search tool to find the article you need.

Overall, though, support agents can do the job just fine.

Hostwinds User Reviews

The month to month web hosting deals are well-regarded among Hostwinds’s clients. Hundreds of user reviews also praise the excellent support and reliable service.

Some users reported billing issues and cancelation problems. This is not the only complaint, so Hostwinds likely does have a few bugs behind the scenes. It doesn’t impact all users, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

Still, most users like Hostwinds’ hosting.

Hostwinds Pricing

There are three cheap month to month web hosting plans:

  • Basic—1 website, $8.99/month (reduced to $6.74/month at the moment of writing this article)
  • Advanced—4 websites, $10.99/month ($8.24/month with the current discount)
  • Ultimate—Unlimited websites, $9.74/month (currently $8.24/month)

The first month is 53% more affordable, which gives you an excellent opportunity to test out the plans.

The only difference between the offers is the number of websites you can host. Hostwinds is significantly cheaper if you have one big website. If you need an actual resource upgrade, you would have to pay a few bucks for one of the Business plans.

Verdict

Hostwinds has a very reasonable offer if you want to pay for web hosting per month. It’s complete with useful features and has reliable support. It’s a bit more expensive than most providers but delivers great value in exchange.

Great Providers that Didn’t Make the Cut

Now that you know our top picks, let’s cover a few honorable mentions. These are generally sound hosts, but they have one or two things you should be aware of.

  • WP Engine—WP Engine charges monthly for WordPress hosting, but the plans don’t come cheap. It’s a very high-end service that can get you excellent performance for WordPress. However, going for WP Engine kind of defeats the purpose of looking up affordable hosts. Still, if you want to learn more about its offerings, you can check out our WP Engine review.
  • Kinsta—Kinsta is a direct competitor to WP Engine, so you can expect pretty much the same deals. You do get a premium service, but the prices are premium as well, starting at $30 for the smallest plan.
  • Cloudways—Cloudways technically charges hourly instead of monthly. It manages the infrastructure of robust cloud computing companies like AWS and DigitalOcean. Plus, it has advanced solutions for WordPress and Magento websites. It didn’t make it to the reviews above because its plans are a bit too advanced for most websites. If you want power and flexibility, you can get its hosting for as little as $10/month ($0.0139/hour.)
  • SiteGround—SiteGround has some of the best shared hosting plans, but its monthly deals are a bit much. The initial price is $19.99/month for just one website and 10GB of storage. You could easily get a managed VPS for the same price, which means SiteGround’s monthly fees aren’t that manageable. If you’re curious about what the provider offers for that price, you can read our SiteGround review.

Is Month to Month Hosting Worth It?

Many hosting providers let you choose a long-term subscription or pay monthly for web hosting. The latter is typically more expensive, which begs the question—why do shorter deals exist, and can they be worth it?

The answer depends on your situation and finances.

Long-term contracts are definitely more cost-efficient. If you can cover the full price and want to stay with the same provider for a year or more, there’s no reason not to prepay for 12 months or more.

However, the alternative is worth considering. Monthly website hosting has several virtues that can be a great asset.

For starters, monthly payment increments are way more manageable than a lump sum, albeit slightly more expensive. You can just set aside a small amount each month and not feel much of a financial burden. Great if you don’t feel comfortable making a significant investment right off the bat.

The second advantage is that you can cancel your hosting at virtually any time. This is great leverage if the hosting service deteriorates for any reason. You can just push the “eject” button and move to a month to month website hosting provider that suits you better.

The same applies if something even better shows up. A hosting provider in the same price range might develop a new crazy feature that you really want to try. Your website might even take off, and you’ll want to reinvest the money in a premium service.

Whatever the case, the flexibility to change hosting companies at a moment’s notice can be advantageous.

So, if you prefer freedom over long-term budgeting, a monthly plan might be the right choice. If you’re interested, check out our top picks above.

Wrap Up

That covers the top month to month web hosting deals. You now know the most prominent names—as well as a few honorable mentions—and everything you need before getting a monthly plan. FAQ

What is monthly web hosting?

It’s standard web hosting but with a monthly pricing model, as opposed to paying a year or more in advance. It’s usually a bit more expensive than a long-term subscription. However, you don’t have to pay the full amount right away, so the payments are easier to manage. Also, you get the advantage of being able to cancel your monthly web hosting payments. So, it’s about getting a more flexible deal over the best long-term price.

Do monthly hosting plans remove features or functionality?

It’s highly uncommon for a provider to do this. Some companies do incentivize users to go for longer subscriptions by adding freebies. The most common one is a free domain registration for the first year. However, all the features should be exactly the same, no matter the subscription length.

Does Bluehost bill monthly?

Unfortunately, Bluehost doesn’t offer month to month billing for shared hosting. The shortest term you can pay for is a full year, which is not ideal for users looking for short-term deals. If you’re interested in some alternatives, all the hosts above have solid month to month web hosting offers.
