GoDaddy is the biggest hosting provider out there, so it’s only natural that it should cater to India-based customers. The plans give you access to plenty of resources and have quite a few decent features. On the flip side, the prices are pretty high for the Indian market, and the support is mediocre at best. All things considered, GoDaddy outperforms many providers, but its deals are far from the best.Read Full Review
India is among the fastest-growing economies in the world. GDP projections for the next four years predict a 7.2% increase, and SMBs are nearing the 51 million mark. Analysts expect the IT and Business Service markets to grow to $13.9 billion by the end of 2020.
In short — the economy is booming!
Our topic today is web hosting in India and how providers are responding to the local market demand.
All those emerging businesses will need a reliable web service. The perfect time for quality hosts to shine!
I have hand-picked a list of companies that fully deserve to compete for the title “best web hosting in India.”
Along with the essentials, this article will also give you:
So, let’s get right into it, shall we?
What does the local market in India have in store for us?
What factors and experiments are involved in ranking the best web hosting in India?
At Hosting Tribunal, we strive to provide detailed information and unbiased reviews of the top hosts in various categories. This way, everyone looking for new prospects can get better ideas and save some time.
There is a range of factors that influence our analysis, but only a few hold the real power.
The sale-sealers and the deal-breakers.
Those that can easily skyrocket or bury a business.
At the end of the day, local entrepreneurs can’t complain about a lack of suitable choices when it comes to web hosting in India. A whopping 68% out of the 50+ million SMBs are still offline, and providers seem prepared for their digital future.
BigRock is one of the many hosting companies worldwide that operate under the EIG hat. The Endurance International Group acquired BigRock for $160 million in 2014, along with three other sister companies — LogicBoxes, ResellerClub, and Webhosting.info.
Today, BigRock powers over 6 million domains, primarily operating in the Indian market.
The provider guarantees cheap web hosting in India, 99.99% uptime, and 24/7 local support.
You can choose between two server locations with BigRock — USA and India, with the latter data center located in Mumbai. The hosting accounts there are a bit more expensive than in the US due to the different cost of servicing.
The plans are quite robust — even the entry-level deals pack 10GB space and 100GB bandwidth.
The web servers are quite impressive— Intel Xeon E5 with 64GB RAM and CloudLinux. You can surely count on a fast and secure website for your Indian clients.
Also, consider the following:
Varnish is a web accelerator – an especially useful feature if you have a large or content-heavy dynamic website. It effectively stores data in the virtual memory of the server and lets the operating system decide which task should go where.
This all leads to reduced loads on your server and, subsequently – faster content delivery.
Secure Shell Access (SSH) is a tool that lets you log in your server machine remotely and execute commands. It gives you immense power and control over your site setup and configuration…if you know what you’re doing.
BigRock offers out-of-the-box SSH for all clients and their hosting sites in India. You can contact support for more information on how to activate the feature.
I can write a book about my horrible experiences with the EIG hosting support.
But every time I give them the benefit of the doubt because hey, who knows…
I am glad I gave the BigRock support team a chance. I had run into such poor support with the other companies that I had little to no hope.
What I got was instant assistance, clear answers, and an overall excellent understanding of my issues.
I guess BigRock kept its old support after the acquisition, and the difference with the standard EIG support sure shows.
Although I had a positive experience, some users have had a fair share of support hiccups, with operators even closing support tickets without a resolution.
Web hosting in India is a very niche product, so you will struggle to find reviews about India-based providers.
Most clients are happy with the low prices and the rich feature bundle they get for the price. But others ran into serious security and performance issues, and that’s something BigRock should look into.
Price-wise, things are also looking good for BigRock. You can host a single website on the Starter package for just 89 INR per month, which is a little over a dollar. If you are looking for something bigger, you can check the Advanced or Business plans, but you have to be prepared to pay at least double.
Here is one thing I noticed about website hosting services in India, though.
International hosts tend to give amazing discounts, but the fine print says you have to prepay for 1-3 years to secure the deal.
With Indian hosts, that period is most often ten years.
Not the best option for people with a fear of commitment.
BigRock has some of the best web hosting offers in India. The accounts provide plenty of resources, and the prices perfectly fit the needs of Indian businesses. The support team is also noteworthy.
1 Indian location
Could be better
ZNet Technologies saw the light of day in 2009. Founder Munesh Jadoun saw an early opportunity in the emerging Indian market and managed to quickly add two more office locations with over 100 trained employees.
The hosting industry recognizes quality services quickly, and ZNet already has 26 awards and accreditations.
You do the math.
ZNetLive primarily operates in India but has also made inroads into the US market. In 2012 the company added a data center location in Texas.
Indian providers don’t usually go overboard when it comes to packing their accounts with features. They understand most new clients have very basic needs and use limited resources, and this is exactly what the majority of hosts offer.
ZNetLive has a different strategy.
Why not give even the startups a more robust and complete deal? After all, most entrepreneurs look for web hosting in India with the idea of growing, right?
The provider doesn’t stop there:
ZNet ensures optimal speed and performance for every client with SSD caching on its servers, a RAID 10 storage setup, and MOD_PageSpeed activated.
The Starter plan gives you a whopping 40GB storage space, more than any other entry-level deal listed here.
Sure, almost every web hosting company in India includes an archive of self-help tutorials and guides. But rarely can one compare with ZNetLive’s knowledge base.
I’m talking hundreds upon hundreds of neatly categorized tutorials, explaining every little detail in your hosting account, control panel, or domain management area.
ZNet addresses sales questions through a 24/7 live chat, and existing clients can benefit from phone and ticket support as well.
It took me three attempts to get through the live chat. Never a great start.
When I brought up some price discrepancies on the website, the rep was insistent the 10-year discount is 35%, even though I sent him links and screenshots proving otherwise.
I got frustrated at this point and was just about to leave when the operator made a final effort to check the issue.
As it turns out, there was a bug on the website when switching between the US and IN versions of the page. In the end, the rep thanked me for the feedback and got right on with fixing it.
So it is possible to get things done right with ZNet. You just have to push the company harder.
ZNetLive easily offers one of the best web hosting in India, clients claim. Online reviews about the host are mostly flattering – a whopping 92% of customers rate the company as Excellent in Trustpilot.
People praise different members of the ZNet support team, revealing the provider’s strong focus on the local audience.
When it comes to cheap web hosting in India , ZNet Live definitely has one of the most competitive prices on the market — less than $1/mo for the Starter plan.
This price carries the biggest discount as well – 65% off if you prepay for ten years in advance. In comparison, the same billing plan with the Standard and Professional packages only come with around 35% cost reduction.
ZNetLive is a solid choice for local businesses that want to expand their influence in India. The servers are fast. The prices are low. What more can you ask for? The support services can use some improvement, but you can still get decent assistance from the extensive knowledge base.
1 Indian location
Many renowned international companies like GoDaddy and HostGator operate on the Indian market. That’s why I was surprised to find a local provider topping the charts.
Net4 is the leading web hosting company in India, with a 10,04% market share.
The company offers servers spanning across seven key locations — New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. This density ensures maximum coverage and speed from any point in the country.
But what makes Net4 so unique that the majority of Indian customers trust it for their online presence?
First thing I noticed on the company website is that Net4 offers quite a lot of plans.
Three plans for small businesses, three for medium ones, three for enterprises, and another trio for cPanel hosting.
A closer look reveals that the choices are actually pretty limited. The storage space can barely handle a decent-sized project, with both Small and Medium plans limited to 1GB at most.
But don’t let that discourage you.
There isn’t much more to the hosting accounts — you get unlimited bandwidth, 50 subdomains, and secure FTP. Forget about free add-ons like SSL certificates or CDN.
Net4’s deals excel in scalability, even on a shared setup. On the company homepage, you can customize your package with as much space as you need and see how that affects the final prices.
Perfect for long-term hosting budgeting.
Net4 focuses on website hosting in India alone, which means the provider can refine its solutions to best serve the local audience.
The host utilizes only certified data center locations in the country, guaranteeing optimized delivery speed and hardware close to your provider.
And then comes support…
I already knew Net4 was the largest Indian host, so I had high hopes for its support team.
The chat was for sales questions only, so I decided to pose as a client who needs to host 2-3 small websites.
The operator initially told me I’d need at least the 2GB plan (one of the most expensive ones).
I asked if I can get a plan for one website and add the other two as addon domains. No, not possible.
Just when I was about to leave, the operator (seemingly) changed her mind — You can host more than one website on a plan with at least 500MB space.
So, just 500MB, not 2GB? Perfect!
Last confirmation — so I can host 2-3 small websites on the Advanced Plan with 500MB?
No, you’ll need a 2GB account for that.
It was a vicious cycle, and I was right in the middle of it.
To summarize, the operator gave me controversial information and did not make much effort to keep me as a client.
Net4 might be one of the cheapest hosting sites in India, but it’s not very popular outside the country. Apart from a couple of client reviews, most testimonials were more than a year old, so there is not much relevant information.
The prices more than make up for the lack of features with Net4. Basic accounts start at 30 INR, which makes it super easy to create a new website with little to no budget. On top of that, you have more than ten different plans to choose from.
As if that’s not enough, you can fully customize a plan with as much storage space as you’ll need.
Unlike other Indian hosts, Net 4 lets you benefit from the best prices with any 5+ year prepayment, not just a 10-year deal.
Net4 doesn’t offer the cheapest or the most feature-packed web hosting in India. Customer support is quite basic. What drives the company forward is the understanding of the ins-and-outs of the Indian market and how to tackle common issues that entrepreneurs face.
Free SSL, dedicated IP
Amazon AWS cloud
MilesWeb is a leading provider of web hosting in India. Founded in 2012, the company outlines customer satisfaction, transparency, and innovations as its core values.
MilesWeb does not have a lot of clients, only under 20,000. But that means each user can get more dedicated attention and assistance.
India might be the focus of its services, but MW also supports server locations in the USA, Canada, UK, Singapore, and Australia.
You can choose any of the locations upon signup, ensuring great connectivity and coverage wherever you are.
MilesWeb has three shared plans in store for us – Tyro, Swift, and Turbo. The first two are only suited for a single website, whereas the highest-tier lets you have unlimited projects.
Each shared account comes with some neat free extras – SSD storage space, SSL certificate, and Cloudflare CDN. First-time users can also try the drag-and-drop site builder and quickly put a simple page online.
The MilesWeb servers run on Linux, so the provider has chosen the cPanel+Softaculous combination for your account and software management.
The pleasant surprises keep on coming, though.
Most providers of website hosting services in India let you build an online shop, but only support it on high-tier plans.
That’s certainly not the case with MilesWeb.
The host fully optimizes its web servers for ecommerce projects, regardless of the package. You can install WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart, and many many more.
There are no transaction fees on the payments you receive, so you can rake maximum profits.
Any reliable host would take care of its web server security. But the really great providers wouldn’t just stop there.
MilesWeb accounts come with an extra layer of protection – a web application firewall. It monitors the traffic coming in and out of your site, blocking any suspicious data packets.
MW certainly scores well in the Security department.
MilesWeb might be one of the top websites in India for hosting services, but at the end of the day, the company caters to an international crowd. This means support has to be there 24/7/365.
MW duly delivers and offers easy access to a live chat, phone lines, emails, and ticketing.
Reaching MilesWeb was fairly easy, and the operators were reliable enough. Sure, there were times when the rep rushed into a solution before understanding the problem, but in the end, we managed to get things done.
The company promises instant replies over the live chat and 15-minute ticket responses. The tests confirmed this to be true.
Looking at the reviews, MilesWeb is flaunting some impressive scores. There are hundreds of testimonials, and almost all of them flattering.
But digging around, things get a bit suspicious.
Many of the positive reviews seem very similar and written in very short periods of time. A company of just 16,000+ to have over 10% of clients writing a five-star review is a bit unbelievable.
If you choose MilesWeb for your web hosting in India, you’ll get an 80% discount on your initial bill. This means you can start building a website for about 45 INR/mo if you prepay for three years. After that, you have to be prepared for quadrupled prices.
Rates are calculated without GST, so you have to consider this added cost as well.
MilesWeb is a notable competitor in the Indian web hosting market, and its services cover all the bases in terms of ease of use and security. The variety of data center locations ensures excellent coverage for both local and global projects.
A great place to host online shops and other ecommerce solutions.
Linux and Windows
HostingRaja has been around since 2012 and has steadily reached 150,000+ clients worldwide in just eight years. That makes it one of the fastest-growing hosting sites in India.
HostingRaja is all about the perfect uptime, and they often advertise over 99.9% availability for all client websites.
Is that enough to keep them in the big game, though?
HostingRaja offers across-the-board services, which include shared hosting, VPS and cloud solutions, dedicated servers, domain names, reseller deals. You can even find Windows-optimized packages if your project is not suited for a Linux environment.
Looking at the shared deals alone, you can choose between six different plans – three limited and three unlimited ones. The restraints on the low-tier packages include disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, and number of websites.
Some of the accompanying features certainly make the deal more lucrative.
You can’t reach the best possible website speed if your server is not up to the challenge. That’s why HostingRaja ensures you take advantage of the best possible hardware.
The provider houses Intel E5-2620 V4 machines with 16 core / 32 thread processors and 3.00GhZ max turbo frequency.
If these numbers mean nothing to you, let’s just say that some of the best web hosting companies in India – and in general – utilize such servers for optimal performance.
Hacker attacks are an imminent danger that haunts every online project. Luckily, Hostingraja does its dues to mitigate the damage of such threats.
All unlimited shared plans include 24/7 server monitoring to ensure suspicious traffic is isolated from your account. Furthermore, the HostingRaja support is always ready to assist with virus and malware cleaning of infected sites.
This brings us to another key factor to consider:
You can’t become the best web hosting in India if you don’t provide proper support to your clients. There are lots of sub-par services out there, but plenty of helpful hosts as well.
HostingRaja falls somewhere in the middle.
You can get live chat, email, and ticketing support, and, for the most part, they work just fine. The majority of operators were patient enough and on point with their advice. But there were a couple of times where it felt the representative had no idea what he was talking about.
There was a great solution for that in the ticketing helpdesk, though.
If you’re not satisfied with the ticket response, you can escalate the case to a supervisor with a single click.
Analyzing the reviews from existing customers, you will find HostingRaja is not yet among the best Indian websites for hosting solutions.
Users vary 50/50, but recent comments are rather on the negative side. Server limitations and billing problems are mentioned most often by unhappy customers.
HostingRaja lets you plan your growth carefully and offer six different deals, starting from 65 INR/mo. The prices are reasonable enough for the local market and carry up to 56% discount if you prepay for a longer period.
That’s the thing with HostingRaja – the billing policies are a bit unclear.
You can only secure a Starter account with a 5-year plan, and Silver lets you choose between 3-5-year prepayment. You will be able to opt-in for a shorter period only on the highest-tiered deals.
HostingRaja is an excellent choice for web hosting in India because of its speed-optimized servers and reliable uptime. The prices can fit any budget perfectly, making the host suitable for both personal and business projects.
Great focus on cyber security as well, with DDoS protection and malware cleaning as part of its deals
Hostinger is a Lithuania-based provider established in 2004. Fast forward sixteen years, and today we have a company with over 29 million customers.
Those are collective numbers from Hostinger and its subsidiaries…all 178 of them!
The provider follows a very efficient business model — it establishes local companies in untapped markets and targets clients with both free and low-cost hosting.
Hostinger offers six data center locations — in the US, the UK, Netherlands, Brazil, and the two closest to India — Indonesia and Singapore.
Hostinger focuses on the mass user. The one who doesn’t know a lot but doesn’t need that much either.
As such, its plans are decent enough.
The entry-level deal gives you room to operate with a single website and email account, 10 gigs of space, and 100 gigs of bandwidth.
Hostinger’s speed and uptime tests were remarkable. The page load times were close to perfect, and the web servers performed well under high loads. Definitely a great environment for a fast and active website.
The good news just keep on coming with Hostinger:
Many of the best web hosting companies in India realize the impact WordPress has on the industry, but few are as well-prepared as Hostinger India.
The provider comes up with specific server speed optimizations, custom-built content caching plugins, and automatic updates.
Such robust deals can really supercharge a WordPress website.
CDN stands for content delivery network. It outlines the technology that helps caching your website content and reducing the overall usage of system resources.
Cloudflare is undoubtedly the biggest name in the CDN market, so it’s no surprise why Hostinger chose to partner with them. CF also comes with added nameserver and website protection.
At the moment, Hostinger offers 24/7 assistance to new and existing clients via live chat, tickets, and email. Phone support is unavailable.
Still, that seems more than enough, compared to other web hosting offers in India.
The representative joined the live chat in less than 20 seconds and managed to clear my doubts swiftly and politely. He didn’t try to spam me with links from the knowledge base or push me for a quick sale.
He had just the right approach.
I enjoyed the overall level of assistance. Hopefully, the same proficiency will be shown with more complex technical issues.
Hostinger is easily one of the top websites in India, and existing clients confirm that notion. The stellar server performance and amazing prices are some of the aspects that have been held in the highest regard.
Even when a client goes public with their issue, Hostinger is always there to respond, trying to find a possible resolution.
An overall great experience.
Hostinger has subsidiaries all over the world, so they have a deep understanding of local markets. For India specifically, they know price is a key factor that influences buying decisions.
Starting from just 59 INR/mo, Hostinger can easily compete with local providers in this field, while giving out heaps of features and resources in return.
Unlike other India-based hosts, the great discounts come even with a shorter-term deal, in this case, four years. You can also decide and purchase some extras upon signup, like daily backups (55 INR/mo) or Cloudflare Protection (545 INR/lifetime).
Hostinger is one of the cheapest hosting sites and an excellent choice for a web host in India. The company offers reliable services, and tons of happy customers can attest to this. Fast servers and amazingly low prices make the Hostinger deals even sweeter.
Fast and friendly support
FastComet was founded in 2013 by a bunch of web hosting professionals with solid experience. The company focused on personal support and innovative technology, and the results soon followed.
Today, FastComet is proud to host 50,000+ client websites and employs over 70 highly-trained hosting experts.
This is also one of the top websites in India. Apart from the local data center in Mumbai, you can choose between a whopping ten more server locations:
Because of its international presence, FastComet packs its accounts so they can appeal even to the neediest user.
I’m talking about a great bundle of features, including a free SSL, domain and data migration, daily backups, and a CDN. The packages fit first-time users perfectly as well – you have a drag-and-drop site builder, a one-click installer, and 350+ free templates for your site outlook.
FastComet is very transparent with its resource limits, giving you a clear idea which will suit your website the most.
And that’s not even half of it:
Cloud-based services are all the rage, and more than 90% of companies already utilize such a solution. Hosting providers usually pair up VPS and dedicated servers with the cloud, but FastComet happily offers it on its shared deals.
Every FC client can enjoy lightning-fast speeds, server redundancy, and maximum uptime at no added cost.
Hands down, the best web hosting services in India technology-wise.
BitNinja Server Security is an enterprise-grade tool for website protection. The platform relies on advanced AI algorithms and machine learning to catch and eliminate XSS and DDoS attacks, script injections, malware, and brute force attempts.
BitNinja is available on all shared service plans.
On top of everything, FastComet is well-versed with WordPress, offering specialized packages and dedicated support for the most popular CMS.
Securing the right website hosting in India inevitably includes some customer care tests, and FastComet passed with flying colors.
The majority of the competition goes as far as answering basic sales and support questions, which isn’t enough when you run into some real problems. FastComet doesn’t stop there.
The operators over chat and tickets were always prompt, very polite, and even willing to give out helpful tips regarding site optimization. If the assigned representative wasn’t able to solve the case, they would just pass it to the next-level support for further inspection.
All of the operators are available 24/7 and can be contacted via chat, phone, email, and ticketing.
You can check numerous review aggregator platforms, but they will all paint you the same picture – clients love FastComet.
The transparent deals, great support, and overall perfect service are praises used a lot in reviews.
FastComet does not have a separate entity to operate on the local market, so the provider is far from the cheapest hosting sites in India.
The prices start from $2.95/mo (around 223 INR) for new clients and $9.95/mo (~752 INR) for renewing ones. If you want to host multiple websites, you need to prepare at least $4.45/mo.
As far as paid extras go, FastComet lets you in on a few neat add-ons upon checkout – search engine submission, SEO audit, and Google SiteMap. All three are subject to a one-time fee only.
You will struggle to find any faults in the FastComet services. Regardless if you are looking to host a shopping cart or search for quality WordPress hosting in India, this provider hits all the right spots. The professional support is an excellent addition to an otherwise A+ service.
From 15GB SSD
ChemiCloud has over 10 years of experience in the hosting industry. The provider got worldwide acclaim because of its cloud-based services and customer-centric approach.
ChemiCloud is one of the better-represented hosts in terms of coverage – you can choose to build a website on one of eight server locations in four continents. The company partners with Cloudflare CDN to expand its network to 200+ POPs in 90 cities worldwide.
But our focus today is India, so how is CC doing on the local market?
New customers can choose between three robust shared deals for their first journey into hosting.
Let’s say you only intend to build a single website and choose the Starter plan. You get 15GB SSD space, a domain name for life, and an SSL certificate as part of the deal – more than enough to get you started.
Moving up, the Pro plan adds some unique feats to its web hosting offers in India.
Immunify 360 is a next-generation cyber security solution that utilizes predictive algorithms for proactive website defense. The tool has access to all the large world databases so it can identify cyber attacks before they hit your server.
Immunify 360 regularly scans your files as well, isolating any malware or virus threats.
When your site is down or you have another issue, the swiftness of your support is of the utmost importance. So, apart from the standard services all clients get, ChemiCloud lets Pro and Turbo users get some extra help.
The priority support puts your helpdesk tickets way up in the queue, ensuring you’ll always get a response within minutes.
While we’re on the topic of customer care, you can rest assured that ChemiCloud will always be there for you in times of need.
The company’s Contact page lets you connect to a support operator super easy, be it via live chat, phone, email, or helpdesk.
I checked the live chat a few times and was delighted with the experience. The operators seemed well-trained and really knew what they were talking about. Even when we got to more intricate questions, the reps were always up to the challenge.
The ticketing system provided the same excellent level of support – responses within minutes and fast resolutions without a lot of going back and forth.
You can safely build the best website for your business, knowing that ChemiCloud has your back.
Looking at the reviews about the best web hosting in India, ChemiCloud’s scores are almost perfect in every aspect. Clients are genuinely delighted with the server performance, but the stellar support is by far the most praised.
You see, the industry is so full of hosts that do a mediocre job in helping customers, that companies like ChemiCloud make an immediate impact.
ChemiCloud’s prices seem a bit on the high side – starting from $3.95/mo (or about 300 INR), it’s certainly not the cheapest web hosting plan in India.
But when you take all the features and support included, the deal is more than reasonable.
You have to sign up for at least two years to get the Starter package, while the Pro and Turbo let you choose an annual prepayment as well.
Even though ChemiCloud does not have a data server location in India, the company is still an excellent choice for local customers. The cloud-based environment and content caching solutions can make any website fly, and you have a first-class support team to back you up.
There is a 45-day moneyback guarantee so you can test ChemiCloud for yourself absolutely risk-free.
Bluehost is an EIG-owned host, one of the biggest in the industry. In fact, it’s so big it currently occupies the #5 spot, with a 2.24% market share.
The provider covers all types of services — from shared hosting, through WordPress-optimized packages, to Cloud and Dedicated servers.
One thing to know about EIG, though — it’s a massive organization flaunting billions of dollars, but it follows a strict corporate model. It acquires popular hosts and gradually replaces the staff and technology with its own, basically creating an army of clones.
Let’s just say that money rules the game with this tech giant.
As with other EIG hosts, Bluehost utilizes a colossal 50,000 square feet facility in Provo, Utah.
BH performs very well speed-wise, but the lack of servers near India makes the ping times from Bangalore less than impressive — 642 ms was the lowest score on our list.
All Bluehost accounts come with unmetered space and bandwidth, but don’t think this means you can go overboard with a large-scale project. There are tons of other resource limitations you will reach (like RAM or file count) before you grow too much.
But worry not — the host compensates with some impressive server setup.
All machines are WordPress-optimized and packed with security enhancements — ClamAV virus protection, secure FTP access, and IP blocking, to name a few.
Bluehost throws in some automatic backups as well, but those get overwritten every week, so it’s best you keep a separate copy offline.
Some of the other perks include:
Having a limited amount of resources is not bad at all. This just means that other accounts on the same server won’t be able to take too much and affect your website performance negatively.
That’s why Bluehost ensures its hosting in India comes with advanced resource isolation. Whenever one client starts taking too much CPU or RAM, they are temporarily redirected to a less loaded location.
Spam Experts is one of the leading solutions for email filtering and advanced protection of your online communication.
Starting from the Plus plan, BH India includes the set of tools in every shared account, guaranteeing to catch 99.9% of all known spam and malware.
Especially useful if you intend to run email marketing campaigns.
The best web hosting in India has to come with A-class support, but Bluehost is far from that standard.
The operators might seem helpful enough until you get to more off-the-script questions.
For example, imagine my surprise when a rep insisted that Bluehost.com and Bluehost.in are completely different companies.
I mean sure, you have the same domain, website, logo, even the support email box was email@example.com.
And that’s just a simple company-related question, imagine if you were having a mission-critical issue and someone is giving you bogus information…
Nevertheless, you get 24/7 support via phone, email, and tickets with Bluehost.in, but don’t expect any in-depth assistance.
Bluehost and Bluehost India operate as separate entities, so you can easily find information about web hosting services in India specifically.
Judging by the few online reviews, the company still has a long way to go. Slow server speeds, downtimes, and problems with refunds are not something a reputable host should allow.
BH might not offer the cheapest web hosting plan in India, but prices are fairly reasonable.
The single website plan starts at 199 INR/mo (about $2.80/mo), or you can go for the Plus plan and host unlimited projects for 299 INR/mo (about $3.95/mo).
And those are just the introductory prices. Renewal rates are even steeper, costing you at least 499 INR/mo even for the entry-level deal.
One thing you might notice is that you can switch between the US and IN website versions. India is the more expensive option, as it places your account on a closer server location.
Bluehost is a solid choice for web hosting in India. The company puts reasonable prices on its products, with an accent on the unmetered space and bandwidth. If support was on the same level, it could easily sweep the local market.
GoDaddy is a name that needs no introduction.
After all, we are talking about the biggest web hosting provider and domain registrar worldwide. Both titles held by a large margin.
Over 9,000 employees ensure that the millions of GD customers get a quality hosting service.
The company owns a data center in Arizona and leases six more around the world — Los Angeles, Chicago, Virginia, Ashburn, Amsterdam, and Singapore.
GoDaddy spends a lot of money on sponsorship deals — IndyCar, Nascar, Super Bowl, anything that can get its name out there.
But are its hosting services tailored to the needs of the Indian market?
Let’s find out.
Тhe GoDaddy India website will reveal four shared hosting packages – Starter, Economy, Deluxe, and Ultimate. Plus, you have a separate deal for a WordPress-optimized account.
So, what do we have here?
Startups with a single website can enjoy 30 GB space and unmetered bandwidth. Free daily backups and free CDN are also part of the deal.
CageFS is a unique virtualization method that prevents users on the same server from seeing and accessing each other’s information. This adds an extra layer of security over your sensitive data.
DDoS attacks happen every day, and server hosting in India is just one of many targets worldwide. GoDaddy monitors all website activity 24/7 and blocks any suspicious activity before it turns into a bigger problem.
This includes DoS and DDoS attacks, virus and malware threats, phishing, and more.
Customer assistance has never been GoDaddy’s strong suit.
If you are looking for 24/7 support assistance via chat, phone, email, and tickets — you’ll get that with GoDaddy. Just don’t expect anything more than basic help and links to the knowledge base.
The support operators over live chat are often unhelpful and mostly resort to templated replies and links to the self-help section.
This is nothing new to GoDaddy as the level of customer assistance has been a pressing problem for years now.
GoDaddy India might be the biggest player on the local market, but the company’s reputation has always been questionable, to say the least.
Don’t be surprised by the low scores and horror stories – GD has never put much focus on tech support or product innovations.
Still, small personal projects might get enough to run without hiccups.
The GoDaddy hosting prices don’t seem particularly oriented toward the Indian market.
Even the cheapest deal will cost you about 99 INR/mo for starters and jump to 199 INR/mo come renewal. The introductory discounted offer is only available if you prepay for three years in advance.
You can also opt-in for a few paid add-ons on the checkout page – website security (420.30 INR/mo), SSL certificate (329.92 INR/mo), and automated daily backups (109 INR/mo).
Some of those essentials come for free with other hosts, which makes GoDaddy’s prices all the less budget-friendly.
When it comes to WordPress hosting in India, you might find GoDaddy’s solutions suitable to your needs. You’ve got a rich set of features and decent server power. But then you have the poor performance scores, high prices, and inadequate support, tipping the scales in the other direction.
There is a significant difference between local and global hosts, both feature- and price-wise.
Even the best web hosting in India will come at around 100-200 INR ($1-3), which is great, but you can expect minimal resources. You don’t have such a problem with global hosting providers, but starting prices are 2-3 times higher than offers from Indian-based companies.
BlueHost is one of the providers on our list because it shows a great balance between features and their cost. The company has long experience, solutions for any-sized businesses, and prices in tune with the market.
The best thing is that the customer service team resides in India, so you can always get someone who knows the local culture and its peculiarities.
WordPress is by far the most popular content management system, and many providers look for ways to optimize their services for the app. ZNetLive is one of the bright examples that offer a WP toolkit and other solutions that ease the lives of first-time users.
Still, international hosts are a much better choice for running WordPress. Providers like Hostinger and FastComet offer robust packages with staging areas, automatic updates, and advanced security tools.
You can launch your own web hosting in India without much effort. You actually have two options:
1. Buy and own a server
2. Rent a server from a reliable host and resell its services
Whichever you choose, you can start a company and get your first clients in no time.
