IONOS by 1&1 is the cheapest dedicated hosting provider in 2020. 240Gb of SSD RAID 1 Storage, 8 Core (2.4 GHz) processing, a CDN, free domain name and free malware scanning features all for $45 per month. It cannot get cheaper than that for a dedicated server from a well-known name in the hosting industry. Better speed and uptime metrics compared to most of the dedicated servers in this list is the cherry on the cake.
Hostgator, a well-known name in the shared hosting section, also does reasonably well in the dedicated hosting section. With its $90 per month VALUE SERVER package providing all the basics on both Linux and Windows, it is a good contender for the best cheap dedicated hosting service provider.Read Full Review

Cheapest Inmotion dedicated hosting starts at $115.69. It is not one of the most inexpensive dedicated hostings on my list. But for the extra bucks you pay, it has some extras like 8GB Ram, 5 Free IPs compared to the average metrics of 4GB RAM, and 3 Free IPs in this price range.Read Full Review
Dreamhost standard package starts at $149 per month. Compared to other hosts like Bluehost, this might sound a bit expensive for essential features like 4 Core – 8 Thread processor, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD. But when you add DDoS protection, top-notch support, RAID-1 Storage to all the above features, everyone can agree with the Dreamhost justification of that price by tagging them as the best fully MANAGED dedicated host. If not cheap, it is one of the BEST dedicated hosts.Read Full Review
Liquid Web, as a dedicated host, offers both Linux and Windows servers. The Liquid Web standard package costs $149 per month (when you buy for one year). Ah, the joys of real estate…
You didn’t expect an article about cheap dedicated servers to take such a sharp turn from the get-go, did you?
Stay with me on this one; I promise it’s going to be well worth it.
Ever since we draw our first breath, we are dependent on the roof over our head. We share it with our families for the first 20-something years, then move out to rent a flat with some roomies until it’s time to take the big step — getting a place to call our own.
The ultimate achievement.
See where I’m going with this?
Living on your own is inherently different from a shared environment, both in life and in web hosting. Purchasing a house (or a dedicated server), you get full freedom to do with it as you please – change it, make it bigger, or invite someone over to live with you.
All that comes at a price, though, and you need to watch your finances or risk going in the red fairly quickly.
Today I will take you through a selection of web hosts which offer quality dedicated solutions at an affordable price. At this stage, you either have a high-traffic website or a project that requires a very specific configuration. So trying to determine the “best server provider” would be pointless — what fits you might be a disaster for someone else.
Now it’s time for the contenders in our direct comparison to line up:
Hostwinds, a Seattle-based host, started in 2010 quickly made it to the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies.
Although a newbie has secured its place in the cheap and best 11 dedicated servers with its resource-rich plans at AFFORDABLE prices.
So if you are here for budget dedicated servers, check out HostWinds specs.
Hardware & Features
I absolutely loved the Hostwinds dedicated server hosting page. It was the only host that replaced the standard fixed deals with a user-friendly tool letting you try out different configurations and seeing how each resource affects the final price.
When it comes to standard deals, 4 cores processor with eight threads, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, 10TB bandwidth, and 8 IPs (best of all) for $79.50 per month is a STEAL.
Things are looking pretty bleak when features are concerned, though.
Apart from the nightly backups, there aren’t any other significant extras. Still, if your project doesn’t rely on any fancy add-ons, you can get both quality and affordability with Hostwinds.
Most user reviews claim exceptional speeds and uptime, which is a pleasant surprise, given that most servers are US-based.
When it comes to negative reviews, billing policies concern clients the most. HostWinds, however, is trying to pinpoint discounted and regular fees.
Discount Note: Prices are for the initial period only and carry a 33% discount from the regular monthly fee.
Bluehost, when bought with a three-year plan, is one of the cheapest dedicated hosting providers.
Hardware & Features
With more than decent support, speed, and uptimes, $79.99 per month for the standard dedicated hosting package with 4 Cores, 500GB Mirrored Storage, 4GB RAM, and 3 IPs seems very affordable.
But if you compare the resource allocation stats from the hosts in our cheap dedicated servers list, one thing is painfully obvious. It is very ambitious, asking someone to purchase an untested server for three whole years.
As for features, apart from the free SSL, you also get a free domain…for the first year only.
Bluehost is yet another company under the EIG belt that seems to garner a lot of negative client feedback
GoDaddy started in 1997, is now the largest domain registrar and one of the biggest hosts on the market. Let’s check out how this popular domain registrar fares against the best cheap dedicated server providers.
Hardware & Features
GoDaddy offers both Linux and Windows dedicated hosting services.
At $94.99, (ECONOMY Package) provides all the essentials of a starter dedicated hosting pack — 4 CPU cores, 1TB storage, 1-Year free SSL to 3 Free IPs combined with decent uptime and speed.
But when it comes to bigger enterprise plans, it is not spectacular. Even their most expensive deal offers just 32GB RAM and 4CPU cores, which larger and enterprise projects might quickly find insufficient. However, they have better upgrades on their UK based site.
A nice addition to each account is their 3 dedicated IPs and SSL certificate that come free of charge.
Considering the Economy package, it is one of the cheapest dedicated providers. But the catch is that the prices shown on the website come with a substantial discount which is only available for long prepaid periods.
User reviews reveal a ton of problems with GoDaddy’s support. Only those who’ve never dealt with the company’s customer or technical service might be surprised by the low scores.
Note: Introductory rates carry a 50% discount if you prepay the server for one or more years.
A2 hosting, a Michigan-based company with almost two decades of experience in the field, relies on speedy servers and perfect uptime to keep its dedicated hosting clients happy.
And happy they are — the personal support approach and wide range of features directly reflect on the reviews about the company.
Hardware and Features
With the prices ranging from $99.95- $141.09, it is famous for its scalability.
It offers whopping 8-16GB RAM, 2-8+ CPU cores. You can boost RAM up to 512 GB. The second best in this list offers 64GB – EIGHT times less.
The cheapest A2 dedicated hosting costs $99.59. It is an unmanaged dedicated server with 2*500GB RAID-1 storage, 2 core CPU, 2IPs. The best thing about A2 hosting – every package is expandable.
In addition to highly expandable hardware, you get the best customer services in the dedicated hosting market, excellent speed optimization, servers across the USA, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, free site transfer, free SSL, two dedicated IPs, Cloudflare CDN, and a money-back guarantee.
Not just that, you can use their Turbo option to improve loading speeds by 20 times.
A2 Dedicated Hosting Reviews:
Customer satisfaction on A2 Dedicated servers appears to be high – based on the scores from popular user review websites.
Hostgator, a well-known name in the shared hosting, also does reasonably well in the dedicated hosting section.
What do I mean by that? Let’s have a look.
Hardware & Features
There is little to separate the three dedicated server hosting plans.
With its $89.98 per month VALUE SERVER package providing all the basics (4 core-8 thread CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, unmetered bandwidth) on both Linux and Windows, it is a good contender for the best cheap dedicated hosting service provider.
For advanced plans, they offer 8 core CPUs, 16GB to 30GB RAM, unmetered bandwidth, and much faster SSD storage options.
Throw in a few dedicated IPs and server DDoS protection, and you can get a good idea of the typical HostGator setup.
HostGator has become infamous with its poor customer support and server outages.
Note: Discounted prices for the initial billing period.
FastComet has the best SUPPORT – an essential quality for any good dedicated hosting and good hardware specs.
Hardware and Features
FastComet offers four managed dedicated server plans and just recently revamped its machines for optimal performance and resource/cost ratio.
Cheapest FastComet server costs $139/month and offers 4GB RAM, 80GB SSD Space, 4TB bandwidth, 2*AMD EPYC 7501 Cores CPU, 4000 MBPS network out.
In terms of features, all dedicated hosting plans come with a free SSL certificate, free cPanel/WHM license, and automated backups.
Besides decent hardware specs and features, it is their DEDICATED support they take their service to the next level. They have a custom-built monitoring tool that helps them find and resolve issues before they cause problems.
Here is a host who treats customers with the utmost care they deserve. You can tell that by the massive backing by loyal users in all review websites.
InMotion Hostingsupports six distinct managed server packages, which gives you great choices not just for launching a project, but for future upgrades as well.
Hardware & Features
Cheapest Inmotion dedicated hosting starts at $115.69. It is not one of the most inexpensive dedicated hostings on my list. But for the extra bucks you pay, it has some extras like 8GB Ram, 5 Free IPs compared to the average metrics of 4GB RAM, and 3 Free IPs in this price range.
The most powerful configuration can get you 16-core CPU, 64 GB RAM, 3×1 TB SSD space, and 15 TB bandwidth cap.
The feature list is not super impressive, but you can still take advantage of the free cPanel, SSL certificate, or customized firewall.
It is a little petty that they charge an extra $5/mo for something as simple as the Softaculous app installer
Things are not looking very flattering for InMotion when we dig around the user reviews. Clients are often left disappointed with both the uptime and the support assistance.
Note: 31% discounts apply to a one-year prepayment on Essential Package
DreamHost, one of the first hosting companies, has been out there since late 1996. This independently-owned host in the last 20 years has been continuously growing.
Hardware & Features
All servers are Linux-based, with an Ubuntu operational system.
Entry-level servers with DreamHost start from $169/mo and guarantee you 4 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, and 1TB HDD storage. Compared to other hosts like Bluehost, this might sound a bit expensive.
But when you add 24/7 DDoS protection, 2N+2 power redundancy, top-notch support, RAID-1 storage to all the above hardware, the price seems reasonable. If not cheap, it is one of the BEST fully managed dedicated hosts.
You also have full root access to your machine, so it is open to all kinds of customizations.
The only drawback — DreamHost comes with HDD storage while most hosts today are leaning towards faster and reliable SSD storage on all their services.
Surprisingly enough, there are a lot of happy DreamHost clients willing to share their positive experiences. As we mentioned, it may not be the cheapest dedicated server of 2020, but it is one of the bests.
Note: 1 Year Plans comes with 11% discounts
Liquid Web, as a dedicated host, offers both Linux and Windows servers. Started as a shared hosting in 1998, it is now famous for high-end VPS, Dedicated, and Cloud Solutions.
Hardware & Features
All Liquid Web servers are PCI-compliant and thoroughly SCALABLE.
At a starting price of $149 per month (when you buy for one year), Liquidweb offers a monster of a server with 32 GB RAM, 4 CPU cores (3.9 GHz Max), and 2*240 GB storage.
The bundle of surprises keeps growing — 250 GB Acronis Cyber backup, 1 TB backup disk, and 5TB bandwidth. Your security is also a great concern to Liquid Web. It has DDoS protection, vulnerability assessment, Akamai CDN.
Trustpilot score — 4/5 stars (66% excellent reviews)
HostAdvice rating — 9.2 (146 reviews)
Liquid Web takes customer support seriously — A2 rep was active in TrustPilot, trying to address every customer inconvenience. After all, they live up to their tag — ‘Most Helpful Humans In Hosting.’
Considering the price, it may not be the cheapest dedicated host, but considering its advantages on speed, security, features, and scalability, it is a primary contender for the tag BEST Dedicated Hosting Provider.
This type of hosting service involves a whole server devoted to the needs of a single organization. There are no other clients on the same machine, guaranteeing all its resources will be utilized solely by its owner. Dedicated servers are highly customizable and easily scalable, which makes them a preferred choice for custom projects.
Minecraft is not a very resource-demanding application so most dedicated machines would be suitable enough to host your own game. Still, best to look for the mid-range deals, as you might quickly outgrow the confines of an entry-level server.
Prices can vary greatly depending on resource allocation and hardware quality. You can expect anything from $70-$90/mo for smaller projects, up to $300+ for enterprise-level solutions. Nevertheless, clients often need a dedicated server because their projects require a specific environment, so it’s best first to confirm your configuration with the support.
The best hosting provider is the one that understands your project’s needs and knows how to address them. Furthermore, such a company should be well-acquainted with the service and has the knowledgeable staff to prove it. In that sense, A2 Hosting, Liquid Web, and Fastcomet are a few hosts which offer both cheap dedicated servers and top-notch assistance.
