Searching for info on Instapage, sifting through reviews?
You’ve come to the right place.
We’ve gathered all the information you need in one place.
The internet is a constantly shifting landscape. To keep up, your digital marketing campaign needs to be fast, hard-hitting, and at the same time—easy on your funds. Landing pages are the most efficient solution. Think of them as scouts for your website running ahead to find sales leads.
Instapage will aid you in pinning down the attention of internet users, increasing your ROI to make the most of your pay-per-click dimes.
Read our Instapage review below for more details on the service and its pricing.
What Is Instapage?
Instapage is a landing page builder that works to help you optimize conversion rates through smart design and planning. Its two specialties are ensuring fast page loading and giving teams the ability to collaborate while designing pages in real-time for maximum efficiency.
With its easy-to-use interface, no coding knowledge is needed by you or your teammates. Minimal onboarding is all you’ll need to get started.
Companies such as Verizon and eBay are among Instapage’s clientele.
Instapage Best Features
Instapage landing pages aim to give your users the best experience possible so that they answer your call-to-action (CTA) and improve your click-through rate. The service gives you access to the best tools and testing functionality to build the perfect page.
Let’s take a look at some of the main points.
Integrations are one of the first things people are looking for in a landing page builder.
Tools like FB Pixels, MailChimp, and Google analytics add to the versatility of your Instapage landing pages, increasing their sales leads gathering potential. The Zapier integration is there, too—always a welcome sight as it allows for countless additional integrations.
Because of their central role in page building, various other connected tools and apps will be discussed throughout our Instapage review.
Block-Based Page Building
The Instapage landing page builder is a neat little program that simply requires drag-and-drop on your part. Click on an element you want and slide it into place.
The Instapage designer is block-based, meaning you can save certain elements and use them later. It’s efficient, saves time, and will help maintain consistency in branding across all your pages.
“Global” blocks are available with the Converting Plan. These will sync the updates you make across all blocks.
You can choose between different styles from among 500 Instapage landing page templates. You can even flick through the mobile, tablet, and desktop views on the fly to see what your pages will look like on any device.
Testing and Analytics
Being able to construct your pages is only half the battle. You have to know who you’re trying to reach and what strategies work. Instapage will help you test your landing pages live—create two versions of a page for some quality A/B testing and see which performs better.
Make the most of Instapage Facebook Ads support by deploying “pixels” to track users through social media. Once you have a “macro” idea of what works on whom, go “micro” with multivariate testing to further refine your impact and increase visitor engagement.
Consult heatmaps via integrations like “Hotjar” to understand how visitors interact with the different elements on your page. Instapage reviews the data with you and explains what it all means so you can optimize your outreach.
Search engines are the highways of the internet. Funnel the traffic with SEO-friendly functionality. Google Analytics will keep track of users to help you narrow down demographics and remarket to those who stopped just short of converting.
Real-time analytics will show you what your target group is searching for, allowing you to adjust the copy on your landing pages to match.
Instapage and Google Analytics work together to provide the best CRM software. Improve your lead management by keeping your ads in the focus of existing customers and potential conversions that are on the fence.
Thor Render Engine Technology
You’ve got the pages.
You’ve got the demographics.
What you need now is the power.
The Instapage proprietary software “Thor Render Engine” charges your pages up for lightning-fast loading times. It cuts down on “bloating” to load site elements for increased speed, prioritizing first contact points to make visitors perceive the site as even faster.
It doesn’t matter how good your landing pages are if they’re slow. Slow loading times bring the hammer down on conversion rates. Especially on mobile, users grow bored very quickly and would rather click off than wait a few seconds for a page to load.
The Instapage webinar library, multiple studies, and Google itself peg the optimal load time at three seconds. Conversion rates can decrease by as much as 25% per extra second! Slow loading times can also negatively impact your Google rankings.
The Thor Render engine makes the most of Google AMP pages, but your visitors can expect similar speeds on desktop. Mobile optimized/responsive AMP functionality is exclusive to the Converting Plan.
Instapage WordPress Integration
Instapage doesn’t offer web hosting, but your landing pages are hosted on its servers.
With that in mind, you’ll be happy to hear the platform integrates with content management systems like WordPress and Drupal.
The integration with Drupal or WordPress hosts is seamless. You can publish your landing page on your custom domain with the Instapage CNAME option.
Certain security features are implemented differently depending on your domain, but we’ll get to that soon.
Go wild with any fancy ideas you have!
Team Collaboration Facilities
The distinguishing feature of the service is that it allows you to bring your whole team along.
The Instapage landing page builder is constructed for collaboration. These features—only available in the Converting Plan—allow you and your team to work together on the drag-and-drop builder, discuss the project, and make edits in real-time.
Non-teammates can be invited in too. This widens your scope so that consultants and clients can be involved in the creation process.
Another feature is the audit log. This allows you to keep track of each project and see the changes made by each person—a must for remote teams working with Instapage to build landing pages.
Security is a constant and growing concern for every page owner.
Instapage has top-notch measures in place to protect you and your clients from technical threats and legal pitfalls. The SSL encryption is automatic if your pages are displayed through CNAME.
If you’re using Instapage with WordPress or Drupal, you’ll have to contact your hosting provider for security certification.
For those with the Converting Plan, Instapage offers Google SSO capability. Instapage also has full GDPR compliance to protect the online and data privacy of EU citizens.
Еven if you aren’t based in the EU, there’s a good chance some of your visitors are.
Online advertising is a global exercise. Make sure you and your visitors are covered and leave nothing to chance. Take advantage of Instapage’s GDPR guidelines to ensure all your bases are covered.
What We Disliked
When we at HostingTribunal tested the software for this Instapage review, we found some things we didn’t quite like.
Inconsistent Support For Certain Integrations
The Instapage WordPress integration isn’t as smooth as that of some other landing page builders. Certain options are also limited for ecommerce store owners.
The Instapage pricing is clearly geared towards bigger businesses, with a minimum fee of $149 per month. The advanced business features are also locked behind a plan with no set price.
No Free “True” Trial
To get an Instapage trial, you have to submit your billing information. After the 14-day period has passed, you’ll be charged automatically.
You’ll know this is a source of frustration for users who miss the cancellation period or, for some reason, can’t contact support in time from their Instapage reviews.
Admittedly it’s not a major downside, as it is a common practice, but do keep an eye on your day-count if you don’t want to commit.
Instapage Price Plans
Instapage keeps it simple by only offering two pricing plans.
- The Optimizing Plan is $199 a month or $129 a month if you pay for an annual subscription. That’s a total of $1,788 a year.
This plan offers everything you need to create and optimize your landing pages, including the Thor Engine. It does, however, exclude the AMP support for Instapage pages and the live collaboration tools. Still, you can have up to five team members with access. This package caps unique visitors at 30,000 a month.
- The Converting Plan has no set price. To purchase it, you must request a demo and discuss your needs with an Instapage service agent.
Aside from the team collaboration tools and AMP pages support, this package gives you access to advanced customer support—Dedicated Launch Specialist and Custom Success Manager. The former will guide you through early setup, while the latter will provide one-on-one support when your projects are underway.
Instapage Customer Service
Instapage’s support is excellent!
For the purposes of this Instapage review, we contacted the customer service team. The agents we dealt with answered our emails in a few hours with extremely detailed responses and follow-up advice.
For on-the-fly help, the website offers an AI chatbot. It will point you to the resources you need or explain how to get in touch with a human worker.
Watch out, though—the audio cue it gives off when it pops up is a little abrasive.
Instapage User Reviews
Before we come to the end of our Instapage review, let’s check some user reviews. Instapage has a 4-star average, with 3.5 stars on Trustpilot, four stars on Trustradius, and 4.5-stars on G2.
Users praise the easiness of the interface the most. Many specifically mention feeling intimidated by the page-building process at first and feeling relief by how straightforward Instapage is to use.
Complaints centered mostly around pricing. More specifically, the yearly price increases. At the time of writing this 2021 Instapage review, the minimum cost per month is $149. But the archives show that the price has risen each year from 2019 to 2021. It’s not surprising, given that the service is continuously improving and adding features.
Still, the possibility of further increases is something to keep in mind when budgeting for the long term.
Instapage reviews on Reddit speak well of the service but do often also lament the price.
Is Instapage Worth It?
Instapage is worth purchasing if you own a business. Regardless of the Instapage pricing plan you choose, you are paying for team slots. It is ultimately a business solution—just take a look at its clientele list, with names like eBay, Yamaha, and Verizon.
Individuals could take advantage of the subscription, too, especially when it comes to page speeds, but cheaper options are available.
If Instapage would be too heavy on your budget or you need something on a smaller scale, consider these Instapage competitors.
Instapage vs Unbounce
Unbounce is considered the best landing page builder by many users.
It has the largest number of integrations available and proprietary conversion intelligence tools. Unbounce is also the cheaper option.
That said, people prefer Instapage’s interface. This service also has better functionality if you’re working with a team.
Instapage vs Leadpages
Leadpages is one of the cheapest landing page builders you could find. It also offers website building and an unlimited amount of traffic.
But Instapage is more advanced overall, with better analytics and page speed optimization.
Instapage is the fastest landing page builder we’ve reviewed. It also offers the best team collaboration features. With it, you get access to sound tech, excellent support, and top-notch security.
That said, it does come with quite a big price tag and the WordPress integrations can be troublesome.
As such, we recommend Instapage for businesses—especially those with an established domain looking to take their team on a mission to boost conversion rates.
Instapage is used to create landing pages with conversion optimization in mind. This means it helps you reach potential customers through smart design, then get them to respond to your call-to-action (CTA).
Verizon, Yamaha, and eBay are among the thousands of customers Instapage currently has. It is an excellent business solution, so it’s no surprise that its user base keeps growing year on year.
The minimum price is $149 a month. For that reason, some find it better for businesses than individuals. Refer to the pricing section of our Instapage reviews to see what the plans include.
No. While it will host your landing pages on its servers, you’ll need to register with a CMS like WordPress for page hosting. Instapage offers integration services for any domain name you may use.
