We live in a fast-paced society. To keep up, your outreach needs to be fast too. Enter landing pages—a boon, particularly if you have an ecommerce store.
They’re not your website.
They’re its satellites—the vanguard of your online advertising.
If you want to turn visitors into customers, you have to get to them before they “bounce.” That’s where landing pages come in handy. Their quick upfront nature will boost your coverage and up your conversion rates.
Landing page builders (LPB), such as Unbounce, give you the ability to build them with minimal know-how.
In this Unbounce review, we’ll show you the software’s best features and weaknesses, user opinions, pricing, and much more. You can decide whether it’s the right solution for you.
What Is Unbounce?
It’s a Canadian company that provides the simple but expansive Unbounce landing page builder. With extensive integration support, analytical tools, and a team of professionals on board, it’ll help you build finely-tuned landing pages geared towards conversion optimization.
Unbounce also hosts the annual Call-To-Action (CTA) for marketing professionals.
Unbounce Best Features
In the first part of our Unbounce review for 2021, we’re going to take a look at the best features this landing page builder has to offer.
Over 1,000 Integrations
Integrations are apps/plug-ins that Unbounce allows you to use in your landing pages. Some of the main ones are MailChimp, Google Analytics, LiveChat, and Hotjar (more on those soon).
The software also connects with Zapier—a web service with built-in integrations you can take advantage of without leaving the app. With Zapier taking care of that, Unbounce can focus on creating the best landing pages for you.
Unbounce uses Google Analytics and other tools we’ll discuss below so that your landing pages can draw on SEO principles to further boost traffic and potential conversions.
When you sign up, you’ll get training with an agent and access to the Unbounce Webinar library to help you make the most of the service. That way, you’ll learn everything you need to know about Unbounce landing pages—from the technical to the theoretical aspects.
The knowledge of sales leads and search engine marketing are invaluable and will stick with you even after your time with the service ends.
Over 100 Unbounce Landing Page Templates
A lot of magic goes on behind the scenes, but what do your visitors see? The page itself, in all its pastel glory. The end result has to be your splash page/screen standing out!
Unbounce has over 100 customizable templates—finely balanced and tested to make the most of affiliate marketing and improve your click-through rate.
They’re grouped by category, so all you have to do is decide whether you want people to sign up for a beta or accept a coupon. Then you customize the page to your liking and start the show!
Unbounce pages aren’t just pretty; they’re smart too. With pay-per-click online adverts, you need enough of your visitors to convert into buyers. Otherwise, your costs will start outweighing your income and drag down your ROI. Unbounce’s testing facilities will ensure your landing page is optimized to push your conversion rates up.
Heat maps, via the Hotjar integration, will tell you which parts of your landing page are hot and which are not. You’ll be able to see where people are clicking, where their mouse is wandering, and what parts of the page they’re lingering on.
Onboard A/B testing is also included. With this, you can create two different versions of the same Unbounce landing page. Traffic will then be split between the two, allowing you to see which performs better. You can run multiple tests and figure out what’s stoking the most visitor engagement.
Conversion Intelligence Tools
Unbounce conversion tracking has AI on board to help improve not only the testing itself but also your understanding of the data. Case by case, the smart tools will be able to optimize your pages for the best results.
Moreover, by enabling the “smart traffic” feature, an automatic lead management system, AI will analyze incoming sales leads and reroute them to the page variant most likely to convert them.
You can combine the Unbounce landing page best practices you’ve learned with machine learning and become a first-rate conversion creation cyborg!
Accelerated Mobile Pages
Landing pages are sleek, fast contact points meant to provoke quick user engagement. A slow webpage can smother your conversion rate. Especially with the number of people accessing the web via mobile these days, you need to be sure your landing pages are mobile-optimized and responsive.
Unbounce has you covered with AMP (accelerated mobile pages) support. With all your landing pages optimized for mobile, mobile conversions are guaranteed at the speed of a swipe.
Security For You and Your Users
Unbounce landing pages are in line with GDPR Compliance. The regulation exists to protect the data privacy of EU citizens online even if the outlets they’re dealing with are based elsewhere.
We spoke to an Unbounce agent to learn more. They explained that the Unbounce platform is fully GDPR compliant and it enables its clients to do the same. Unbounce has both the information needed and the procedures in place to help you ensure your customers are protected.
Although users don’t mention this often in their Unbounce reviews, this is a very useful feature and a must for every business.
To further increase your and your clients’ security, Unbounce uses automatic SSL encryption and supports Google single sign-on (SSO).
Ease of Use
The Unbounce landing page builder is very easy to use. For the most part, it’s “drag-and-drop.” You simply click on the features you want to add, be they sticky bars or pop-ups, drag them to the desired location, and drop them.
Unbounce works with WordPress too. The set-up is easy—simply install the Unbounce plugin on your website.
What We Disliked
So far so good, but what’s the catch? In the next part of our Unbounce review, we’ll consider some, admittedly, contextual downsides.
No Free Plan
There’s no free plan available. The most you’ll get is a demo of the drop-and-drag editor. If you want a more in-depth look, you’ll have to submit billing info and cancel your subscription within 14 days.
The service is relatively expensive. In fact, many of the negative Unbounce reviews are due exactly to that.
We don’t recommend it if you’re just starting out and don’t have much capital.
Also, note that if you do sign up and you exceed your allowance, you’ll be automatically billed into a new bracket the following month.
Besides, the more advanced features discussed above are exclusive to the more expensive plans.
Drag-and-Drop Can Be Sluggish
During our Unbounce review process, we at HostingTribunal noticed the editor can slow down quite a lot depending on how much you add to your page.
Landing pages are quick and streamlined, though, so this won’t be a problem in the end.
Unbounce has four pricing plans available. You can get a custom offer if you need more than the biggest plan covers. For that, you’ll have to consult with the sales team directly.
- The Launch Plan costs $80 per month or $72 per month for a year upfront. It gives you access to the basic features needed to construct and launch landing pages. It allows for up to 500 conversions, 20,000 visitors, and one connected domain.
- The Optimize Plan will set you back $120 per month or $112 per month for a year upfront. Aside from the basic features, this package includes A/B testing and those nifty conversion intelligence tools discussed above—necessities for the best Unbounce landing pages. It allows up to 1,000 conversions, 30,000 visitors, and three connected domains.
- The Accelerate Plan’s price is $200 per month or $180 per month for a year upfront. In addition to everything mentioned, it includes AMP pages. It allows for up to 2,000 conversions, 40,000 visitors, and seven connected domains.
- The Scale Plan is available for $300 per month or $270 per month for a year upfront. It offers everything previously listed, plus a bigger bandwidth limit for maximum utility. It allows for up to 3,000 conversions, 50,000 visitors, and 15 connected domains.
Unbounce Support Review
Unbounce’s support is very thorough, but it can take a few hours to get a response to certain queries. It’s also hard to “get in the door.” To access the LiveChat, you need to be a registered member with billing info submitted.
Potential customers would be best served via email.
Unbounce User Reviews
For our Unbounce review, we checked some user reviews to see how others found the service. Most customers praise the platform’s ease of use, as well as the number of templates and options available in their Unbounce reviews.
Complaints were often about customer support and, interestingly enough, the platform not being advanced enough.
Unbounce reviews on Reddit followed the same pattern. Users seem to love the service, but a vocal minority criticized it for being restrictive. Some thought it didn’t allow enough depth, so they’d rather go the DIY route.
But this criticism misses the point of the service. Unbounce, like most landing page builders, is there for those that lack the technical know-how to create simple and effective landing pages.
Is Unbounce Worth It?
Is Unbounce worth the cost?
Yes, if you can afford it.
Be that as it may, it is a market leader among landing page builders. When you’re using Unbounce, you get expert support and the over 1,000+ integrations brought in to boost your conversion rates.
You’re also paying for secure encryption and GDPR expertise to cover you legally and protect your customers’ privacy.
That said, if the service isn’t for you, check out some of Unbounce’s competitors below.
If you’re iffy about the user interface or the pricing, there are several alternative solutions. We’ll compare the services to help you decide which one is more suitable for your needs.
Instapage vs Unbounce
In terms of pricing, Instapage and Unbounce are quite similar. However, the latter has more plans and a lower starting cost. When we compared satisfaction by looking at Instapage and Unbounce reviews, we found that people tend to prefer the user experience of Instapage over Unbounce. The landing page builder of Instapage seems to be simpler than the Unbounce app.
LeadPages vs Unbounce
LeadPages is far cheaper than Unbounce, but it comes with fewer options. Unbounce has more integrations, but LeadPages offers domain name registration. This, combined with the lower cost, makes Leadpages perfect if you’re starting from scratch.
Unbounce is an industry leader among landing page builders. What most impressed us throughout this Unbounce review process is the amount of handy integrations.
The company also offers solid onboarding with knowledge about how to use and optimize landing pages in general. It’s fully GDPR compliant and gives you the chance to achieve the same.
It’s a one-stop shop for all your digital marketing campaign needs, provided you can foot the bill. With quality comes cost.
Unbounce is used to build landing pages and help you turn visitors to your site into subscribers/customers. This service simplifies the process by educating you on landing pages and providing simple but handy tools.
Being the top name in the industry for years, Unbounce has over 16k customers. Its track record, plus this large number of customers, should be a testament to its ability to boost conversion rates.
Unbounce has a starting cost of $80 per month. Check out the pricing plans section in our Unbounce review for a full breakdown. There are a number of plans available. As the price increases, you get access to more tools and space to accommodate your visitors.
Not as such. Unbounce allows you to build and launch landing pages connected to your domain. An example of a content management system is WordPress, which Unbounce is equipped to integrate with.
